Along the Road

216 Pages | 12 x 9 Hardcover

Cate School approached us about designing a book for the school’s upcoming centennial celebration. The 300 page bard bound image wrap cover book has hundreds of archival and color images paired with text written by one of the school’s retired faculty members. Design of the book required great coordination with school officials because the book was designed in New Orleans and the designers did not have immediate access to the schools archival collection to know what was available. Through phone and email the designer was able to communicate the needs for the design to have school officials in California go through the archival collection to supply needed material.

New Orleans’ Literary Landmark: Hotel Monteleone

64 Pages | 6 x 10 Hardcover

Hotel Monteleone is designated an official Literary Landmark by the Friends of the Library Association. The famous authors who stayed at the hotel and used it as their muse include Ernest Hemingway, Tennessee Williams, and William Faulkner among many others. In order to celebrate this designation the hotel wanted to produce a book which collected information on all the authors with connections to the hotel as well as using excerpts from their work when the hotel was mentioned. The hardbound cloth covered book with dust jacket was 64 pages and printed in four color throughout. Several collage illustrations were also created for the book to illustrate the excerpts from novels and short stories which featured the Hotel Monteleone. The book was used as a corporate gift, sold in the hotel gift shop and a copy of the book is placed in each room for guests to read during their stay.
